I just bought an Iphone 2g from somebody but I didn’t come with a sim card and it was formatted and now I want to use it to listen to music and pictures(not to make calls) but when I connect it to iTunes it tells me that I need a sim card and to follow the whole activation process, do I need to get it unlocked first?

I see a lot of people on eBay selling unlocked and jailbroken iPhones for 650+. I know how to do the unlocking/jailbreaking part, but wonder how people buy the iPhone 3Gs without a contract to resell. Anyone know? I want to tap the market.

you can buy them off ebay.. att store, apples website, or off of craigslist,,. usually craigslist has the cheapest

I've got a new W156, complete with manuals in Chinese only, and some sort of pop-up info screen every time I press a button, but I am unable to switch to English. I also can't find a downloadable manual on the Motorola web site. Got any suggestions?
